The closing date for entries of 12th May is fast approaching for this Novice competition, now in its second year. Competition date is Sunday 10th June. Last year was an outstanding success with over 100 gymnasts from 4 clubs taking part. There is a lot of interest being shown from other clubs again this year. Those who have been before will be amazed to find that our facility has doubled in size since last year. We now have full size competition and warm-up floors plus a full length tumble track. We are looking forward to welcoming the competitors and their parents. Expected registration time will be 11.15-11.30am. Finish time will be mid afternoon; assuming we have enough judges.

Building Works update

Our contractors Goodfellow builders Ltd are proceeding with the major Facelift to our facility while causing mimimum disruption to our day to day classes. The dance studio and new changing area are well on the way to being completed, while the toilet blocks in number 17 are also coming along nicely. We have lovely new skylights in No 16, resulting in a much brighter building. The work on the toilets in number 16 will commence once number 17 is finished. Our upstairs waiting room is having a new entrance area that will significantly cut down on heat loss.

New Run-up for Tumble Track

Nick Heffer-Rahn, husband of club manager Jean, has been a tireless volunteer for the charity over the years. Nick has spent the last couple of weeks constructing a fantastic 10 metre run-up to our new tumble track. This is to allow our higher level tumblers achieve the maximum speed and height during their spectacular runs. Joint Club manager Felicity said:”We are so grateful to Nick, he has saved us £ thousands on this project. This means we are now one of the very few clubs in the country to have a permanent full-length run-up” . Nick was too shy to pose for a photograph so we asked his grandaughter Sofia – just starting out in her tumbling career- to stand in for him.

The “WOW” factor at Deanshanger Primary School

MK Springers club manager Felicity Candler-O’Donnell recently addressed a highly successful whole school assembly at Deanshanger Primary School. Felicity spoke about London 2012 and how important it is to be involved in any sport, not just gymnastics. Many of the pupils from the school make the short trip every week to attend MK Springers regular club sessions at Kiln Farm and six of them gave a display of balances, cartwheels, handstands etc. to an enthusiastic audience.

Simon Jeacock, teacher and PE Co-ordinator at the school commented:

“The display by MK Springers to the school showed them the possibilities if they train and join a well-established club. The fact those undertaking the display are current students made it more special, which helped add to the WOW factor of the moves demonstrated. It had staff and pupils surprised at what they could do. Amazing!”

Felicity commented: “ I was delighted to learn that so many of Deanshanger students are fit and active. On a show of hands more than 50% said they took part in some sort of organised after school sporting activity”

Our daughter Faith had her 6th birthday party with you today, both Faith and all her friends had a fantastic time our thanks go to all that helped out particularly Laura…. We wont hesitate in recomending you to our friends with children….

June half term break- booking form open

Following the outstanding success of our Easter holiday course, many parents are already asking us about the June break. Therefore we have decided to open up the booking form already to allow our customers to plan ahead. The all day (9.00-6.00pm) has become quite popular, particularly now that parents can use childcare vouchers or working tax credit to help pay for the sessions. As always, we advise to book early! Easter Opening Times

We are open as normal on Saturday April 7th and all other days throught the School Holiday period.
