MK Springers achieved their best ever performance at the General Gymnastic Competition held on the 29th of April. The club entered a total if twenty one gymnasts in level ten, nine and eight. In their sticking blue leotards the gymnasts achieved a total of four gold, four silver and three bronze medals. All the gymnasts competing train at schools halls or community centres across Milton Keynes level ten saw the largest entry with eleven Springers gymnast battling it out for medal positions. In the aged eight year old age group Samuel Furzer showed real strength moves to achieve his first gold medal and Rhiannon Fox held her nerve as well as her frog balance to achieve a silver medal. Their team mates Hannah and Yasmin Loveland just missed out coming 4th and 5th respectively followed closely by Ellie Curtis. In aged nine groups, again in her first county competition Isabelle Graves won sliver and her team mates Faith Kimberely, Gemma Richardson and Georgia Forrow were close behind. In aged10 age group Francesca Toomey was just outside the medals. Harriet Frank a relative new club member showed how it’s done to receive a silver medal in the 12 year old age group.

In level 9 Springers had seven gymnasts competing. Ella Turner at only seven years old held her nerve to win gold. Jennifer Becket had to jump very high on vault to receive her silver medal in the age eight age group. In the age nine group Lucy Jackson smiled brightly throughout and received a bronze medal, with follow team mate Eliza Gurney just missing out on a medal.  Lucy Exley and Carla Sansome were just outside the medals in age ten groups. Rhys Anstee-Turner again shows how well the boys can do it by walking away with a silver medal in the eleven year old group.

With only three gymnasts entered in to the level eight the gymnasts knew medals would be hard to come by! But young Eleanor Broome at eight yrs old suffered and injury on vault but still achieved gold. Emily Beckett in the age eleven group walked away with a huge smile after receiving a bronze medal. This was Georgina Gallavan aged fourteen years second gymnastic competition, like her first outing she again received a gold medal. Sarah Carey who is North Milton Keynes community coach was very pleased with how well all the gymnasts did. Some of these gymnasts have joined our club as a result of the work and after school clubs MK Springers have set up throughout Milton Keynes.
